SUMMER 2025 INTERN
Studio Athena Calderone and EyeSwoon are seeking an ambitious Intern to join our studio for the Summer season. We are looking for someone detail-oriented, efficient, devoted to quality output, able to work independently, as well as in a team environment, possesses the organizational skills to prioritize tasks and handle multiple deadlines, and has excellent communication skills.
Responsibilities include attending site visits, project installs, drafting, 3D modeling, design development, pricing & quoting, maintenance of the sample library, showroom visits, and other errands around the city. Assisting with the preparation of presentations as well as filing, note taking, and other administrative duties will also be common. We are looking for eager learners with strong communication skills and an incredible eye for design! Proficiency in AutoCAD, Photoshop, and at least one 3D modeling software (Rhino and/or Sketchup preferred) is required.
Responsibilities include (but are not limited to):
Communication with vendors for acquiring pricing, samples, lead times, & information on products
Visiting showrooms around NYC, selecting materials, gathering research as needed
Assist in the sourcing of new materials, furniture, and lighting
Assist in the production of design drawings, presentations, and digital modeling in support of the interior design team
Meeting preparation: printing materials and retrieving material samples
Filing and maintaining SAC fabric and materials library
General administrative/office duties eg. buying office supplies, handling returns, shipping packages, pick-up/drop off clothing loans, etc.
Provide organizational and hands-on support to the EyeSwoon team
Assist with production-related tasks eg. assist creative research, guest list, vendors, etc. as needed
Run errands to collect design materials, props, and other required items.
Help maintain organization and coordination for ongoing projects
Who You Are:
Candidates preferred to be in Junior or Senior year in Architecture, Interior Architecture, Interior Design program, or a recent graduate.
Eagerness to learn and take on responsibilities
Strong organizational skills, detail-oriented, and flexible
Strong written and verbal communication skills; positive team attitude
Self-starter with a "can-do" attitude
Ability to work on-site in Tribeca, NYC. Some remote work may be required.
Software Requirements:
AutoCAD is required
2D/3D modeling capabilities
Sketchup and/or Rhino
Photoshop
Compensation:
This is a paid internship commensurate with experience. School credit is also available if applicable. Flexible scheduling to accommodate class commitments.
